  1. Applicants Sanjiv Kaul (Regular Lecturer), Officer Incharge of Civil Engineering Department, Maninder Singh (Regular Lecturer), Officer Incharge of Department of Architecture Assistance Course, and Sukhdev Singh Bhogal (Regular Lecturer), Officer Incharge of Department of Production and Industrial Engineering, who are working in Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology, Chandigarh, have preferred the instant O.A., for a direction to the respondents, to consider their case for regular promotion to the post of Head of the Department (for brevity, H.O.D.), of their respective departments.

  2. At the very outset, learned counsel for the parties are fairly at ad-idem, that since the controversy involved in this case is squarely covered by the decision dated 16.09.2016 in O.A. NO. 060/00747/2016 titled as Sunita Mehta Vs. Union of India & Others (Annexure A-30), of this Tribunal, so the instant O.A. can effectively be disposed of, at this stage.

  3. As is evident from the record, that in the wake of O.A 060/00747/2016, filed by one Dr. Sunita Mehta w/o Sh. Sunil Kumar, Officer Incharge, Computer & ECE, Chandigarh, the competent authority was directed to take a decision regarding initiation of process for promotion to the post of H.O.D. of her department of Computer Engineering in Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology, vide order dated 16.09.2016 (Annexure A-30).
