This writ appeal is directed against the order dated 20.6.2015 passed by the learned Single Judge of this High Court, whereby he has dismissed appellant’s WP(C) No.1622/ 2007 and confirmed the award dated 19.9.2006 as passed by the I ndustrial Tribunal, Dibrugarh in Reference Case No.4/ 2004.

On account of unrest in the appellant’s Tea Estate, lock-out was declared vide notice dated 17.9.2002. The lock-out was finally lifted on 21.10.2002 following some settlement. Respondent No.2 - Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha demanded that salaries of staff employees for the period of lock-out should not be deducted, but the demand was not considered favourably. Thereafter, since conciliation also failed, an industrial dispute was raised and it was referred to the I ndustrial Tribunal. The I ndustrial Tribunal vide award dated 19.9.2006 held that staff employees were entitled for 60% of the wages for the period of lock-out. Aggrieved, the appellant...
