Facts of the Case:

1. The appellant has sought permission to inspect the Bank account of M/s Prabhat Forgings Pvt. Ltd. at Punjab National Bank, Miller Ganj Branch, < xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Ludhiana. He has stated that the information, which cannot be denied to the Parliament or State Legislation shall not be denied to any person.

2. The CPIO of the Bank contended that the Bank is under duty to keep secrecy of 3rd accounts of its constituents, which are also party. The appellant's appeal was dismissed by the appellate authority on the ground that 'such disclosure will cause unwarranted invasion of privacy of our customers'.
