Order:

  1. The Commission vide its order dated 04.10.2010 initiated suo-motu proceeding and issued show cause notice to the Respondent under Section 142 of the Act for non-compliance of the provisions of UI Regulations as UI charges (including surcharge) for an amount of Rs. 14.14 Crores was outstanding against the Department of Power, Govt. of Nagaland, as on 31.08.2010.

  2. The Commission Vide its order dated 30.12.2010 had directed the Respondent to liquidate the outstanding UI dues including surcharge and the current UI dues by 10.1.2011 and to report compliance.

  3. None was present on behalf of the Respondent during the hearing of the matter on 18.1.2011. An affidavit dated 12.1.2011 from the Executive Engineer, Electrical Transmission Division, Dimapur was received on 19.1.2011 in reply to the order of the Commission dated 30.12.2010. In the said affidavit, the Respondent has submitted that it has initiated action for liquidation of the outstanding UI dues and has sought time till 31.1.2011 for the purpose. No further information has been received from the Respondent.
