This Regulatory Compliance application has been made by the Jindal Power Trading Company Limited for change of name of the applicant from Jindal Power Trading Company Limited to Ambitious Power Trading Company Limited. Based on an application made under sub-section (1) of Section 15 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (hereinafter referred to as "the Act"), Jindal Power Trading Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as `the licensee`), the Commission on 16.9.2008 granted licence as a category `C` electricity trader for trading in whole of India in accordance with Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Procedure, Terms and Conditions of Trading licence and other related matters) Regulations, 2004, subject to the terms and conditions contained in the licence. The licence was re-categorized as Category II in accordance with Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Procedure, Terms and Conditions of Trading licence and other related matters) Regulations, 2009. Based on the request of the licensee, the Commission vide its order dated 6.5.2010 had downgraded its licence from Category II and Category III.

The applicant company was originally incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 as Chhattisgarh Energy Trading Co. (P) Ltd. on 17.8.2004. Subsequently, the name of the company was changed from Chhattisgarh Energy Trading Co. (P) Ltd. to Jindal Power Trading Company Limited with effect from 4.3.2010 and certificate to that effect was issued by the Registrar of Companies, National Capital Territory of Delhi and Haryana on 4.3.2010.
