Department of Atomic Energy Assistant Security Officer (A) Recruitment Rules, 2009

G.S.R.56:--In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution the President hereby makes the following rules regulating the method of recruitment to the post of Assistant Security Officer (A) in the Department of Atomic Energy, namely:--

1. Short title and commencement.--

(1) These rules may be called the Department of Atomic Energy Assistant Security Officer (A) Recruitment Rules, 2009.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Number of Post, classification and scale of pay.--

The number of the said post, its classification and the scale of pay attached thereto shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the Schedule annexed to these rules.

3. Method of recruitment, age limit, qualifications, etc. --

The method of recruitment, age limit, qualifications and other matters relating to the said post shall be as specified in columns (5) to (14) of the said Schedule.

4. Disqualifications.--

No person,--

(a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or

(b) who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage, shall be eligible for appointment to the said post:

Provided that the Central Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule.

5. Power to relax.--

Where the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it may, by order and for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any class or category of persons.

6. Saving.--

Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and other concessions required to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and other special categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government from time to time in this regard.

Upto 27 years as on crucial date. (Relaxable for Government Servants upto 35 years' in accordance with the instructions/orders issued by the Central Government. Note 1: The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the 'closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India (other than those in Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep). Note 2: In case of appointment is made through Employment Exchange the cruical date for determining the age limit shall be the last date upto which the Employment Exchanges are asked to submit the names. Note 3: Ex-servicemen and ex-constables shall be eligibele to apply only within three years of discharge or retirement from Armed Forces or Police.

(a) Qualification: Direct recruits:Graduate from a recognised University. For Ex-Servicemen, Ex-Police and Ex-Central Para Military Personnel. Graduate from a recognised University or equivalent.

(b) Minimum Height: 167 Cms. (c) Chest: 80-85 Cms. (Relaxable for Scheduled Tribes and Hillmen as per Government Orders. 1. The Screened in candidates will have to qualify in the physical test under Constituted Board as follows:

(a) Physical events

(i) 1.6 Kms. run -6 minutes 30 seconds

(ii) Long jump -3.65 meters in 3 chances

(b) The candidates who qualify the physical test will be allowed to appear for a written test for 75 marks in the allotted time of 90 Minutes. Composition of the question paper will be as per the following pattern:

Note:--(1) Candidates having NCC 'C' Certificate and State Level Sports Certificate will be preferred. (2) The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of application from candidates in India.
