No. S.O.3/C.A.59/1988/Ss.99 and 100/2016.-Whereas the Governor of Punjab is of the opinion that for the purpose of providing an efficient, adequate, economical and properly coordinated road transport services, it is necessary in public interest that the City Bus Service in the urban areas falling within the Jurisdiction of the Municipal Limits of a town, Municipality or City Corporation, as the case may be, including sub-urban areas upto 5 Kms. or as may be specified should run and operated by the State Transport Undertakings as defined under sub-section (42) of section 2 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Central Act No. 59 of 1988) to the complete or partial exclusion of the operation of the routes operated by other persons;

AND WHEREAS in exercise of the powers conferred by section 99 of the aforesaid Act, the proposal regarding the City Bus Service Scheme for the aforesaid purpose was formulated and published for inviting objections and suggestions therein vide Government of Punjab Department of Transport, Notification No. S.O.4C.A.59/1988/Ss. 2, 99 and 100/2015, dated the...
