This intra-court appeal is directed against order dated 09.05.2014 passed by the learned Single Judge of this High Court, whereby he has allowed respondents’ WP(C) No. 5050/ 2006.

The Home Guards are enrolled and posted in different departments of the State Government to render services. Likewise, they are also posted in the office of the Superintendent of Police, Karbi Anglong. But the Home Guards posted in the office of the Superintendent of Police, Karbi Anglong are paid much less than the Home Guards posted in other departments of the State Government. Aggrieved, the respondents filed WP(C) No. 5050/ 2006 for a direction that all Home Guards irrespective of their posting be paid uniformly, equally and without any discrimination.
