Heard Mr. M.K. Ray, Advocate for the petitioners and Mr. P.C. Bisht, Brief Holder, appearing on behalf of the respondents. By means of this petition the petitioners have sought a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to issue caste certificate to the petitioners.

According to the petitioners, the father of the petitioners has come to Uttarakhand from the undivided State of U.P. in the year 1975 and since then he is residing in Kichha. He completed his entire education from the State of Uttarakhand and he was also issued a permanent resident certificate on 25-6-2007 by the S.D.M. Rudrapur.
