[30th December, 1967.]An Act to provide for the more effective prevention of certain unlawful activities of individuals and associations and for matters connected therewith.BE it enacted by Parliament in the Eighteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-CHAPPRELIMINARYCHAPTER IPRELIMINARY1.Short title and extent.1. (1) Short title and extent. This Act may be called the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.1*[(2) It extends to the whole of India:Provided that it shall come into force in the State of Jammu and Kashmir on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.]2.Definitions.2. Definitions.
