Blood PressureAmust-do for stress junkies. High blood pressure, or hypertension, often develops without any symptoms and can lead to heart attack and stroke, if uncontrolled. A simple test measures the maximum pressure in an artery when the heart is beating (systolic) and the least when it's resting (diastolic).
Body Mass IndexThe weighing scale is passe. Think Body Mass Index (BMI)-your weight in kilograms divided by the square of your height in metres (kg/m2). A BMI between 18.5 and 25 is normal; overweight if up to 30; obese if up to 40 and beyond 40 you are morbidly obese.
