In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Maharashtra is hereby pleased to make the following rules further to amend the Higher Grade Stenographer, Lower Grade Stenographer and Steno-Typist in the Government offices in Greater Mumbai (Recruitment) Rules,1997, as follows namely:--

  1. These rules may be called the Grade Stenographer, Lower Grade Stenographer and Steno-Typist in the various Government offices in Greater Mumbai (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2008.

  2. In the rule 3 of the Higher Grade Stenographer, Lower Grade Stenographer and Steno-Typist in various Government offices in Greater Mumbai (Recruitment)Rule; 1997 (hereinafter referred to as "the Principal Rules"), in sub-rule (b),-

    (a) in clause (iii), for1 tine figures "30'''' the figures "83" shall be substituted.

    (b) in the proviso to clause (iii) for the words "who are already in Government Service'''' the words "who are already in Government Service and whose appointments are duly regularized" shall be substituted.

  3. In the rule 4 of the principal Rules, in sub-rule (b)

    (a) in clause (Hi), for the figures "30" the figures "33" shall be substituted;

    (b) in the proviso to clause (iii), for the words " who are already in Government Service" the words "who are already in Government Service and whose appointments are duly regularised" shall be substituted;

  4. In the rule 5 of the principal Rules, in sub-rule (b),:-

    (a) in clause (iii)t for the figures w30M the figures "33" shall be substituted;

    (b) in the proviso to clause (Hi), for the words " who are already in Government Service" the words "who are already in Government Service and whose appointments are duly regularised" shall be substituted;

  5. For rule 6 of the principal Rules, the following rule shall be substituted...
