Information Technology has introduced new ways of business processes to harness the benefits of better products quality, satisfaction of employees, current & potential customers, and financial performance in Small Scale Industries (SSIs). This study measures managers' orientation towards IT & its impact on SSIs performance using four variables namely technology orientation, product quality, recipient satisfaction and financial performance. The study hypothesized that higher degree of managers' orientation towards Information & Communication Technology (ICT) invariably affects the recipient satisfaction, product quality & financial performance. The validity & reliability of the study were checked using correlation and Cronbach Alpha values. The paper highlights the pattern of IT-applications and factors influencing Information Technology Enabled Operations in SSIs. The limitations & future research issues are also discussed.

INTRODUCTION
Since 1980s, Information & Communication Technology (ICT) has assumed importance in various sectors of developed and developing countries. The rapid development and spread in ICT arena are providing remarkable changes both economically and socially, throughout the world (Liu and Luo, 2003; Fullantelli & Allegera, 2003 and Barton & Bear, 1999). The development, spread and application of technology has not only given impetus to the development of information industry (Bhasker, 2003 and Barton & Bear, 1999), but have also cheered up the traditional industries like manufacturing and service in a competitive market locally, nationally and globally (Pease & Rowe, 2003; Wang & Hou, 2003 and Barton & Bear, 1999). Information Technology (IT) enabled operations focus help the organizations, to transform marketing and production activities that are considered necessary to directly produce new product, improve quality and provide various channels of delivery to meet customers expectations (Mohammed, 2002). Per se, it plays a vital role in the sustained growth of business organizations. Some newly industrialized countries and regions have an outstanding performance in the field of ICT and are striding ahead.
