Where There is a Bill...

DELHI Controversy over the office-of-profit Bill might have been overshadowed by the Rahul Mahajan case last week but Parliament's monsoon session, scheduled to begin in late July, promises more action on that front. The legislation, returned by President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam to Parliament with queries, is being sought to be reintroduced in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha by the Government without real changes. This is because the Congress and the CPI(M) are convinced that all aspects of the issue have been covered by the Bill and that a special panel can go through the President's suggestions.
